Hospitality careers are becoming more popular for a few different reasons. The pay is usually very well, making the jobs a little more enticing, you are challenged daily and there are many opportunities for employment. Making it fairly simple to find a job opening.

You can specialize in a particular area and make yourself more marketable for a specific job or you can keep yourself knowledgeable in different areas and broaden your horizons for employment opportunities. Hotels are definitely on the top of the list. There are several different areas that can use a hospitality specialist. Hotels are constantly being built, making for great career choices and ample employment. Not only are hotels readily available in the United States, but also across the world. Giving you the chance to be relocated to new locations worldwide, if you so choose.

You do not have to be employed by a top notch five star hotel in order to be employed in a great hospitality career. All hotels need to have employees. You might have to start out at the bottom, but surely once you have proven yourself to the management you can move up the ladder rapidly.

Some of the desired positions in a hotel are receptionist or front desk clerk and lifeguard. These are both very important positions to hold. As a lifeguard you will be responsible for the safety of other while they are enjoying their stay at the hotel. Ensuring the proper precautions are taken while people are enjoying the water at the hotel. The front desk clerk will take the reservations and give out the rooms to the guests. Usually, if there is a problem, the clerk is the first to know about it. Making it essential to have excellent problem solving skills.

For a slightly challenging yet very rewarding job that also made it to the top three list is the event and meeting planner. Some of the responsibilities of this job are assisting in wedding receptions planning business meetings and things of this nature. It is important that a person in this position can pay very close attention to details and get things done right, the first time. For the most part, there is no room whatsoever for mistakes when you hold this job title.

Normally, in order to even be consider for such an important job position you will need to have at least a bachelors degree. In addition, you will most likely be required to have a minimum of 2 years experience, not including any internship you might have previously done. However, the monetary compensation is quite well. Usually ranging from $39,000 to $74,000 per year.

When companies hire someone to take care of their travel plans, they hire a travel coordinator. This job is number three on the list of top hospitality careers. For this job, you will be handling the travel arrangements for clients. This could include a vehicle to and from the airport, airline tickets, accommodations, rental vehicle, passport and anything else that is required by the client. In this position, you can expect to earn anywhere from $29,000 to $53,000 per year.
